Iridium Global Maritime Distress and Safety System has been strictly overseen by the International Maritime Organisation (IMO)’s Maritime Safety Committee (MSC) officially recognising Iridium as a provider the satellite services. Below are some of what the system has to offer. 

Distress Alert Services:

Activated by the press of a button, distress alerting sends basic, but critical data to a Rescue Coordination Center (RCC).

Connect to an RCC and other maritime authorities through a phone call over the Iridium network to share additional details about the distress situation.
